Burlington is one of 45 communities across Ontario taking part in Ontario’s Healthy Kids Community Challenge. The Healthy Kids Community Challenge unites communities with a common goal: promoting children’s health through physical activity and healthy eating.

Healthy Kids Community Challenge Burlington is joining the Province of Ontario in challenging our community to promote healthy and active lifestyles among children zero to 12 years old.  Over the next three years, Healthy Kids Community Challenge Burlington will inspire Burlington to work together to create new programs, activities and policy changes to support healthy eating and physical activity.

About every nine months, the Ministry of Healthy and Long-Term Care will launch a new theme related to physical activity or healthy eating; two protective factors associated with healthy weights in children. Communities will rally around the theme and work with partners in many sectors developing programs, policies and initiatives that promote and enable healthy behaviours. Our community will be developing action plans that strive for the goal while meeting local needs.
